Since starting as Te Awhi Rito at the end of May, Alan has had a busy schedule of events and started a new role as Community Librarian at Te Patikitiki Highbury Library in Palmerston North.

Schools, events and planning

Alan has presented at a number of schools, contributed to a webinar for new school librarians, and joined the Storylines Tour for a panel session in Levin. He also attended the New Zealand Book Awards for children and young adults and spoke at the Kids Lit Quiz world champs finals in Havelock in July.

On a visit to the National Library Auckland Centre, he met with staff and planned his programme with National Library and Te Awhi Rito partner organisations.
